Q&A with Jessica

I can never get enough of this view five minutes from my house.

Jessica tagged me in her last blog post and left a whole list of questions for me to answer on my blog, which has been dormant for quite some time. Well, it's a good way to get me back on it, I guess! :) Here goes...

1. What's the best thing that has come out of blogging for you?
It's given me somewhere to share some of my photos and write, and to discover other people doing the same. Probably the best thing, though, is that I could write about my holiday last year, so that I won't forget everything that happened. I need to finish that series of holiday posts...

2. What's one thing you've learned recently?
How long it takes to process and edit one song! Well, I am not learning from experience, but from watching the music camp songs come to life. It was a lot of fun making the parts we did, though (learning the songs, practicing, recording, and filming).

3. Describe yourself in five words.
I thought about this for awhile, and I came to this conclusion: I get nicer with time. That describes me pretty well, I think—the longer you know me, the nicer I am.

4. Where is your favourite place to write?
Well, I don't really write that much these days, but when I write it is usually on the bed in my room or on my desk. Right now, though, I am writing this blog post on my brother's bed.

5. Do you have a favourite flower? What is it?
I like ranunculus flowers, mainly because they look nice.

6. Tell us about a book you feel like talking about - any book.
I'm currently reading Tuesdays with Morrie and the Bible. I just started Tuesdays with Morrie, and I think I will enjoy it. I am slowly going through Job and trying to get as much as I can out of it.

7.What are your top three tips on how to enjoy life to the fullest?
One I'm currently trying to hammer into my head is Don't be scared. I think if I didn't worry so much about making mistakes and doing the wrong thing, life would be a lot easier.
Another is Take opportunities given to you with both hands.
And finally, In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. Walk in the path He has for you and your life will be the fullest it can be.

8. Share something that's inspired you lately - anything: a photo, post, blog, article, book, etc.
Really, what has been inspiring me lately is songs. I've been going around the house singing "Always cheerful, always cheerful/ Sunshine all around we see..." And, "Yahshua is coming soon/ Morning or night or noon..." And, "Seeking the lost, yes kindly entreating..." And a whole lot more I learnt and sang at the camp. Yes, it's a big part of my conversation these days.... :)

9. Do you prefer rainy winter days by the fire, or warm summer days at the pool or beach?
I think rainy winter days by the fire, but our rain comes in summer and after it's been raining for awhile, I like to see the sun again, too.

10. What's been the best part of your day so far?
The best part of my day has been opening Sabbath with songs and a prayer, and then eating nice food.

Trees

A bit of a deviation from the series of overseas posts.
I've been noticing trees in the last while. Not because I took the initiative to sit quietly outside and gaze at trees thinking of how they're doing all they were made to do for us, and how we're not doing all we were made to do for them; more like because I've been hearing songs and reading poems (for Literature) about trees, so that brought me to notice them. So above I've embedded the songs I heard.
This is the poem.
And this is a story I read a couple years ago for Literature which I thought of because it's also about trees.
